Geography

In Geography, we encourage our pupils to ask questions about the world and its people. Throughout their time at Heyford Park Free School, the children develop their locational knowledge (such as learning the names of the continents and oceans of the world, identifying the equator and tropics etc.); their map and geographical enquiry skills; and their understanding of human and physical geography (such as the impact of urban development as well as natural features such as mountains, rivers etc.). We use fieldwork and educational visits to enhance their learning experience. The children are also challenged to engage with real world issues such as climate change and the use of plastic.
