Mandarin KS2 -KS3
Mandarin KS2 – KS3
Mandarin is taught in Key Stages 2 and 3 here at HPS, allowing for students to get a taste of the language and culture(s) before their transition to Secondary level. Our main intent is to promote the early development of linguistic competence and a passion for lifelong language learning, as well as a respect and curiosity for other nations and their cultures. With Mandarin being the second most widely-spoken language in the world, and China increasingly becoming a key trading partner for the UK, learning this subject will not only be a useful communication tool in life, but will also broaden students’ future career prospects.
By the end of their time with us at HPS we aim to have instilled confidence in students’ ability to interact with others, in both English and Mandarin, while also having developed them into ‘Global Citizens’ with a good understanding of different world cultures.
